Root Canals

With advanced technology, root canals have become more effective and more comfortable for patients.

Root Canals at Aria Dental

Root canal therapy can save a tooth that would otherwise need to be extracted. When decay begins, it starts in the outer layer of the tooth and advances into the inner layer. The inner layer is softer which allows the cavity to spread faster. If the decay spreads to the nerve of the tooth, the nerve gets irritated and damaged, often resulting in pain and possibly even infection. Root canal therapy may be used to remove the damaged nerve tissue and clean the area. The tooth will then be sealed off to prevent future damage to the tooth. People often associate root canals with pain, when the pain is really coming from the irritated nerve of the tooth.

The Signs You Need a Root Canal

At Aria Dental, it is our goal to provide you with comprehensive oral health care. We understand that there are some situations where you might need to have cavities filled, and there are other situations where you might need a root canal. What are some of the top signs that you might require a root canal? Take a look below, and feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns. We are always available to answer them.

1. You Have Persistent Pain

If you have persistent pain in your mouth, this is a sure sign that you might need a root canal. Of course, there are numerous other reasons why you might be experiencing tooth pain, but one of the most common reasons is that something is wrong with your roots. Your route is responsible for protecting the nerves that supply your teeth, and you have persistent pain, this could be a sign that something is wrong with your roots. If you have persistent pain in your mouth, give us a call to make an appointment. We can figure out if you need a root canal.

2. You Have Extreme Sensitivity To Heat and Cold

If you are experiencing extreme sensitivity to hot and cold temperatures, this could be another sign that you need a root canal. For example, when you drink a glass of ice-cold water, do you have one specific tooth that appears to get angry with you? If you drink a cup of hot coffee, do you have a tooth that becomes irritated? This is a sign that the nerve is hypersensitive, and you might need a root canal. Count on us to help you with this issue.

3. Your Teeth and Gums Are Discolored

If you noticed that your teeth and gums are discolored, this could be a sign that something is wrong with the root. For example, if the route has gotten infected, it could change the surface of your gums and teeth around that specific root. If you noticed one spot of your mouth it is appearing to change color, it could be a sign that you need a root canal. Our team would be happy to take a look at this issue for you.

4. There Is Pain When You Touch the Tooth

If you have pain that gets worse when you touched a tooth, this is a sign that the nerve underneath is irritated. This indicates that the root could be damaged. When you touch your tooth, you might feel an electric shock-like sensation that runs down your tooth into your gums. This could mean that the root has been harmed, and our professional team can take a look at this issue for you.

5. Your Tooth Appears To Be Moving

When you are a child, you expect your baby teeth to fall out. If one of your teeth is loose, you probably get excited because this means you get to put the tooth underneath your pillow for the tooth sorry to leave you some money. If this happens during your adult years, this is a sign that the root is not anchoring the tooth to the surface of your jaw as strongly as it should. It could indicate that something is wrong with your root, and you need a professional to help you.

6. Your Gums Are Swollen

Finally, if your gums are swollen, this is a sign that the tissue underneath the surface had become inflamed. This could mean that something is wrong with the root, and you might need a root canal. We can take a look at your gums and figure out if that is a mild case of gingivitis or if there is something more serious going on. If you need a root canal, our team has the training and experience necessary to help you with this issue.

Dr Mustafa and his staff are wonderful! He was able to see me right away for major tooth pain that led to the extraction of 3 wisdom teeth, and for a very reasonable price I might add. He walked me thru each step and made me feel comfortable. I was so nervous but his funny and calming spirit really helped me get thru the procedure. Dr Mustafa is not my regular dentist; I was referred to him by my dentist due to scheduling conflict but highly considering switching! I was a new patient but was treated so well that I felt like I had been going for years. Thank you again for helping me with my pain, Dr Mustafa & crew!
